I'm Ashley. I grew up in a fairly small town and currently live in an even smaller one with my husband Tommy, and our dog Koopa. I made a decision in November 2011 to do the Primal Blueprint diet. When I decided to do this I didn't fully grasp the concept that this is a lifestyle more than a diet. Honestly, I hate the word diet anyway so this was a good thing. I wouldn't have considered myself an extremely "unhealthy" person before Primal, but there were certainly somethings I could change. My husband has a history of diabetes in his family and I want to do everything I can to prevent him from going down the same path.
On August 23, 2011 I found out I was pregnant. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for 8 months so this was a very welcomed surprise! Unfortunately I miscarried on October 20th. I was 12 weeks along. During my pregnancy I was having some complications. I have hypothyroidism that I didn't find out about until my first prenatal appointment. I was also dealing with subchronic hematomas, which through my research could possibly be attributed to my thyroid condition. We are currently trying to conceive again. I'm hoping that being Primal will give my body every fighting chance to conceive quickly. And when I become pregnant I'm hoping to have fewer complications and to carry a healthy baby to term.
I decided to make Primal a part of my life for lots of reasons. The most significant is my healthy, my husband's, and our future children's.
